Image Proxy (IP)
Node icons and other images (including font icons and map tiles) that link to web images rather than coming from a file system may not always be shown properly due to security restrictions. Your browser will mark it as insecure and prevent the image from being loaded.
One approach to handling this security issue is called Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS). This is a mechanism that uses additional HTTP headers to tell a browser to allow a web application running in one domain to access selected resources from a server at a different domain. When a web application requests a resource that has a different origin (domain, protocol, or port) from its own, it executes a cross-origin HTTP request.

Siren Investigate now has an Image Proxy (IP) feature that enables this functionality. The IP takes the URL parameter to validate it against a list of allowed domains and, if valid, fetches the image and streams it back to the browser. The image_proxy plugin returns a stream in the following form:
You can set the following IP parameters in the
investigate_core: image_proxy: enabled - boolean to enable/disable the proxy allowed_domains - an array of strings containing allowed domains, default to "*" max_image_size - number to set max image size allowed (in bytes), default to 10000 timeout - number to set milliseconds before a request times out, default to 30sec proxy_cache_enabled - boolean to enable/disable the image proxy cache, default to false proxy_cache_expiration - number to set seconds of proxy cache duration, default to 3600sec browser_cache_control - string to define browser Cache-Control, default to 'public, max-age=3600'
